A digital corkboard for writers
The corkboard is one of the oldest tools in a writer’s room: index cards and pins, one idea per card, the whole story visible from across the room. Scrībō is that corkboard in your browser — free, with nothing to install and no account needed to start.
What a corkboard is good for
A corkboard turns a story into something you can see and touch. Each card is small, so it forces you to name what a scene or chapter is for. The board shows the whole shape at once, so you can spot a saggy middle or a character who disappears. And cards move, so trying a new order costs nothing.
That’s why writers use one for screenplays, novels, plays, podcasts, talks and dissertations — anything with a structure that has to be found rather than planned.
Where a paper corkboard falls short
- It lives on one wall. You can’t take it to a café, and you can’t open it on the train.
- There’s no backup and no undo. A knocked board or a lost card is gone.
- It runs out of room. Two projects need two boards, and a long novel needs a lot of wall.
- It’s hard to share. A photo of a corkboard is unreadable; retyping it is a chore.
What Scrībō adds
- Cards that look like cards — real 3×5 proportions, portrait or landscape, sized with a slider, in twelve themes from ruled paper to neon.
- Drag and drop — pick up any card and drop it anywhere; undo if you didn’t mean it.
- Rows become acts — group cards into named, coloured bands (Act One, Part Two, Chapter 5) that you can collapse to focus on one section.
- Five colours — tag cards by plotline, point of view or status and see the pattern across the whole board.
- On every device — any modern browser on a laptop, tablet or phone; with a free account your boards sync between them.
- Multiple boards — one project per story, and you can switch between them from the settings drawer.
- Share and export — send a read-only link, print the board (each act starts a new page) or export it to text, CSV, JSON or Fountain.

Questions
Is Scrībō’s corkboard free?
Yes. Unlimited cards, colours, acts, drag and drop, sharing and export are free forever, with up to three projects. Scrībō Pro ($4.99 a month) adds unlimited projects, the other nine card themes, Fountain import and unlimited AI tools.
Can I use it offline?
Scrībō runs in the browser and saves to the cloud when you’re signed in, so it needs a connection to sync. Without an account, your cards are stored in the browser on that device.
Try it on your own story
